The Village, has its roots in pre-Roman times and many buildings date back to the 16th century or earlier.
Life is laid back and the locals are very friendly and long-lived. There are many residents over 90 and some over 100!! All with stories to tell.
It is known as the oven of Abruzzo because its sheltered south-facing position makes it warmer in the summer than the surrounding areas.
The views are spectacular and the air clean. Wolves, bears and wild boar live in the mountains, as well as some rare birds of prey.
